Protest and Inspection

1. DMS reserves the right to inspect any car at any time. Once the money is handed to the head tech official the protest is binding and cannot be reversed regardless of the reasons

2. All protest and inspection will be done at the discretion of and handled by DMS officials. Any car is subject to inspection at any time by officials. This includes but is not limited to internal engine components as well as chassis, fuel and safety inspections..

3. Protest shall be made to the head tech inspector. All parties involved will be notified after the completion of the race and protest is filed. Protest will be limited to lead lap finishers. A car can be protested that finished in the spot in front of you. There may be multiple protests in one race. A car must finish in order to file protest. Only the car owner or driver of the race and the division in which they participate may file a protest. Protested driver may back protest the driver that protested his vehicle. A driver may protest any car that finishes ahead of him that is on the lead lap.

4. Any protest must be filed within 10 minutes from the completion of a race or qualifying by the driver or car owner. After the 10 minutes from the dropping of the checkered flag all requests will be denied. DMS reserves the right to inspect the car filing protest for the same infractions.

5. Only 3 crew members of the car protested and 1 person from the protester can be allowed in the protest area. No one from another competitor’s car may inspect, or measure any competitor’s car.

6. Any car or cars determined illegal would receive no money. Points are lost on the race in which any car is disqualified. If during a protest inspection, an item is found to be illegal, inspection may cease at that point and the vehicle will be determined illegal. Claim rules are not considered a protest item. When a car refuses to tear down the driver will receive no points or money for the race night.

7. Protest acceptance fee: The protested driver must put up 25% of the protested acceptance fee  stating that his/her vehicle meets the rules requirements. If the protested driver wins the protest he/she will be refunded the acceptance fee back and the protester will lose the protest money. If the protested driver loses the protest because your car is illegal you will lose the acceptance fee.

8. Super Trucks, Late Models
No protest will be accepted after 10 minutes from time of race completion. Top protest will be $400 for top protest. Top and bottom protest will be $700. Additional items can be protested for $125 an item (Clutch, Rear End, Trans etc.). You can just protest items but they must be in writing before tech man will allow. A track official has right to refuse protest. All protest must be in writing from driver or owner accompanied with the amount of money handed to tech man. The track will retain 25% of the protested money to pay the tech personnel.

 

9. Chargers, Street Stock
No protest will be accepted after 10 minutes from time of race completion. Top protest will be $300 for top protest. Top and bottom protest will be $600. Additional items can be protested for $ 125 an item (Clutch, Rear End, Trans etc.). You can just protest items but they must be in writing before tech man will allow. A track official has right to refuse protest. All protest must be in writing from driver or owner accompanied with the amount of money handed to tech man. The track will retain 25% of the protested money to pay the tech personnel. MASS Street Stock protest for complete car and engine $1500 cash.

10. 4 cylinder, Bomber
No protest will be accepted after 10 minutes from time of race completion. Top protest will be $250 for top protest. Top and bottom protest will be $450. Additional items can be protested for $125 an item (Clutch, Rear End, Trans etc.). You can just protest items but they must be in writing before tech man will allow. A track official has right to refuse protest. All protest must be in writing from driver or owner accompanied with the amount of money handed to tech man. The track will retain 25% of the protested money to pay the tech personnel.

11. All visible protest, including body, must be made a minimum (30) minutes before race time in which you are to compete. Items which do not require disassembly will be considered a visual protest and are to be protested before race. Any item that is visual (does not require disassembly) is not protest able nor will it be considered illegal after an event, should a protest then be lodged. Visual Protest tech fee $25.00. All visual protest must be made 30 minutes to the tech before race time takes place. This will allow reasonable time for protested party to make repairs.

12. During protest the officials will confiscate any illegal part. If during a protest inspection, an item is found to be illegal, inspection may ceases at that point and the vehicle will be determined illegal. If research needs to be done on a part a inspection may be moved to the next business day if needed. This will be determined by the tech official

13. Any truck or car in any class that does not meet the minimum or maximum speedway rules or specifications may be allowed to participate with a weight penalty. The amount of additional weight will be determined by the DMS tech official before the vehicle enters the event. The vehicle cannot be protested for any item that weight was added for the rules infraction.

14. Speedway officials and management will resolve any disagreement over technical questions or decisions. When their decision is rendered it is final and binding and no further discussion or appeal will be allowed. OFFICIALS DECISIONS ARE FINAL

15. Once the item in question leaves the inspection area it can not re-enter and be submitted for
appeal. The items in question must be left with the head tech official at the speedway before any
involved parties leave the speedway grounds. No equipment will be considered as having been
approved by reason of having passed through inspection unobserved.

 

CRATE ENGINE PROTEST;
Protest fee is $700. When a crate engine is protested, the engine must be removed from the car within 2 hours after being officially protested. The engine will be taken to Ronnie Barfield’s shop by Ronnie the DMS Tec. official and inspected. The results will be given to the car owner and the person that protested the engine as soon as possible. If the engine is legal and the owner would like his engine put back together race ready the protest money $600 will be payment in full for the inspection and assembly of the engine or $200 of protest fee will be deducted from the $600 and you can assemble your own engine. ( Any engine parts that are broken or worn and need to be replaced will be paid for by the owner of the engine) Items that may be checked, are the carburetor, intake, camshaft, cam lift, cylinder heads, valves and springs, bore and stroke, crankshaft, pistons, engine block, piston to deck & etc. All
engine parts must be parts provided by GM, Ford and Dodge for a crate engine. Protest fee pays technical inspector.
